Application Engineer

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Interact with product management/project management, site leader and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives.
• Review requirements, specifications, user guide and other project documentation to assure quality of the products and tests to be developed and maintained.
• Monitor and operate test machines which is used for testing customer products onsite: including machine assembly, calibration, Retrofit, Improvement, and maintenance.
• Provide high quality technical support to customers, including fixing existing issue, preventing risks, installation, and training to users.
• Conduct efficient and effective debugging on test machines.
• Research and document bug reports following agreed-upon processes immediately upon discovery of a quality problem.
• Assist supervisor (site leader) in the creation of project status reports and metrics, prepare test plans, and schedules. Report common customer complaints to site leader to address the situation for future reference.
• Repair small damage part onsite under the guidance of the repair center.
• Provide technical guidance to junior-level test engineers and/or test technicians.
• Provide construction ideas and technical support to the team.
• Maintains product manuals. Do not share any documents related to the product to anyone without the permission of management.
• Ensure that any parts that need replacing are available in stock. Keep an inventory of equipment required for the repair work.
• Regular safety checks need to carry out on all the machines, or it could prove to be dangerous for the workers working on them.
• Work on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned that will contribute towards team, department, and company goals.
• Provide on-the-job training to new engineers.
• Self-improvement on technical skills
• Provide technical assistance, diagnostic help, support, and advice not only within the designated teams but also for other teams and departments within organization.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with customers, ensure customer’s satisfaction.
• Other tasks assigned by supervisor and/or manager.

Basic Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge

‍

Bachelor's Engineering degree in preferably in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Mechanical or equivalent qualification.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

‍

• Technically competent in troubleshooting of mechatronic machines.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Application engineers typically work outside of the company premises and must be able to work without direct supervision.
• Able to read E-drawing to debug the machine.
• Good Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
• Familiar with LabVIEW, PLC and C# is a plus.

Working Conditions

‍

Working conditions are normal for an office and factory environment. Work requires local travel. Work may require evening and weekend work. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
